Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried.....

On Thursday morning we had another opportunity to hop on a boat......but this time it was for Shrimping and a lesson on the sea life along the coast.

We had a great time and learned a lot about the Gulf Coast and Ellie got to hold some of the shrimp and fish that were caught in the net. And you'll be happy to know that nothing was harmed and everything was put back in the gulf.

One of the deck hands, named David, told us about a local seafood market called LaBama.

What made this seafood market special was not that they just sold fresh seafood but they would also cook or boil what you ordered for a VERY small fee.  Since we were leaving the next day we thought we'd swing in a get a few pounds.......or 12.....to keep on ice for the ride home.

We are planning on a Wilkins' Famly Shrimp Feast when we get home.

To be continued.......

XO-Russell, Lisa & Ellie
