Nawl'ns Part 3

Our second full day in The Big Easy were full of tours!!!  We did a city and swamp tour with Grey Line Tours and had an absolute blast.

The City tour took us around town and pointed out all the landmarks the city has to offer along with the History of New Orleans.  I highly recommend it.

The swamp tour took us down into the Bayou (about 30 minutes outside of town) where we boarded a boat that took us around to their beautiful swamps.

We also got up close and personal with some gators.......we LOVED every second of it.

In between the city tour and swamp tour we had a little less than 2 hours to kill.  So, what do the Wilkins' do with time to kill??  That's right....we eat!!!

We didn't want to go to a touristy place so we asked around a bit (btw-the people are very friendly and hospitable-and they really enjoy talking to "out of towners") and we were told that Johnny's was the place to go.  So Johnny's we went.

Johnny's wasn't a big place and man o man it was packed!!!

Russell went with the Johnny's Special Po-Boy-which was beef with grilled ham, american and swiss cheese and of course topped with lettuce, tomato, pickle and mayo.  This Po-Boy was amazing.....it was dripping with au jus from the roast beef......messy......but o so good!!!

Ellie also had a Po-Boy-turkey with lettuce and tomato.......she loved it.....she wanted to go back there for dinner.......sorry kid.....we have more places to sample.

I went with a Muffuletta again........I had to try another one to redeem the one from yesterday!!  I'm SO glad I did.  It was the BEST.  The marinated olive salad was to die for.

Johnny's definitely gets the seal of approval from us!!!

Until next time!! XO-Russell, Lisa & Ellie
