However, we did have the family over for a big ole shrimp feast. As we said from a previous post we bought 12 pounds of shrimp.....6 pounds mild and 6 pounds spicy. And the whole family brought something to accompany the meal......it was a great Wilkins' Feast......and we celebrated Aunt B's birthday!!
As I said, we had plenty of shrimp.....and we had them cooked with the heads on (get more flavor that way) and some of the family members didn't care for that. I'm gonna be honest.....it was kinda fun watching them pull those heads off.....hehehe. Russell also made some smoked sausage for the few that didn't like shrimp.
We also had coleslaw, corn on the cob, watermelon (that we bought on the way home along the side of the road in Mississippi......SO GOOD), bread and plenty of pickled goodies.
And for dessert we had this VERY yummy ice cream sandwich cake.........it was layers of ice cream sandwiches with peanut butter and chocolate in between then topped with cool whip, chocolate, caramel, and peanuts......and OH, MY GOODNESS.....it was PERFECTION on a plate.
