Doo-Dah

On Sunday, we met up with our good friend Phil for lunch at the Doo-Dah Diner.  For those who have been to Doo-Dah......"I know......SO good, I'm I right"and for those who haven't been there....."you NEED to go." It was actually Phil, who introduced us to this place-Thanks Phil

Doo-Dah opened it doors in 2012 and it fast became a Wichita favorite.  They serve breakfast and lunch and are open Wednesday thru Sunday.  To get an idea of the atmosphere and history, I pulled this description directly from their website at www.doodahdiner.com

"The Doo-Dah Diner was founded in 2012 by Patrick and Timire Shibley, two native Wichitans who wanted to create a casual breakfast and lunch restaurant with the same laid-back vibe that Wichita is known for."

No truer words have been spoken!!  Personally, what makes Doo-Dah SO good is that they make everything from scratch and when I say everything........I mean EVERYTHING!!!  From the monkey bread to the corned beef in their rueben, everything is made in house (that I'm aware of).

For lunch that afternoon, I got the Fried Bologna & Egg Sandwich-which is a thick-cut of fried bologna and a fried egg in between two pieces of wheat berry bread, with a side of crispy hash browns.  I LOVED it......it reminded me of my childhood......my Dad makes a very similar sandwich except we called it an ET Special.

Russell was in the mood for a burger so he went with the Outside-In Burger-which is a 10 oz burger stuffed with cheese and jalapeno bacon.  He got fries and dipped them in their chicken gravy.......MMM, MMM, Good!!!

Ellie LOVES their hash browns and that is all that she wanted to order........but we convinced her into getting a cup of chili too.  The chili was a little spicy for her delicate taste buds so she pretty much ate hash brown.  She was fine with it!!!

Phil ordered the breakfast burrito with a side of hash browns.  If your gonna order the breakfast burrito come hungry because the thing is massive, it's stuffed with eggs, chorizo, diced potatoes, and cheese then smothered in a green chili sauce then toped with more cheese.  Its massive and delicious....it's also what Russell ordered the first time we were their.

If you haven't experienced Doo-Dah yet, you HAVE to go.....no ifs, ands or buts!!!!

Until next time!! XO-Russell, Lisa & Ellie
