We went to a place called Grand Isle-I would call Grand Isle a restaurant who has taken traditional southern seafood and modernized it. We found the atmosphere and food very good but a little on the pricey side.
We started our meal with a half order of Tasso Butter Baked Oysters-which were baked oysters (still in the shell) toped with roasted jalapeƱos, havarti cheese and herb bread crumbs........SO GOOD!!!
Russell wasn't very hungry (due to being so FREAKIN hot & humid down here) so he ordered a small order of the Fisherman's Stew-which was a mixture of fresh fish, shrimp, oysters, mussels, veggies and brown rice in a tomato based soup. It was very good and not too filling.
I had a Fried Oyster Po-Boy Sandwich topped with lettuce, tomato, pickle and mayo (this is what comes on every Po-Boy you order in the city). It was so good that Ellie even liked it-until we told her what she was eating.....Ha!!!
Ellie's choice for the evening was chicken strips and fries-she claims that she doesn't like seafood but when ever she has a bite of something we have she likes it (most of the time)......we're pretty confident she'll like it when she's older.
Until next time!!! XO-Russell, Lisa & Ellie
