Do-B Do-B Doooo

Hi Everyone.....It's been awhile!!  I hope everyone is doing well.  We've been uber busy these last few weeks after our vacation........and I'm looking forward to getting back to "normal".....well our "normal" anyway.  :)

About 3-4 times a year Ellie gets to visit my Mom (in the Kansas City Area) for a week or a long weekend.........well this is one of those weekends.  We met my Mom in Emporia on Thursday evening which means that we get to eat at Do-B's.  WHOOT WHOOT!!!

A couple years back we were traveling up to KC to visit family and we often stop in the Emporia area for lunch or dinner and this is when we discovered Do-B's.  Russell found it on Yelp and it had a pretty good rating at the time (and it still does) so we wanted to check it out.  We now stop there almost every time we are passing through.

Do-B's is located at 704 E 12th Ave......which just so happens to be in the old Dairy Queen building back when I went to college at Emporia State.......GO HORNETS!!!!

Do-B's has a good menu selection and I've never had a bad meal there.......they use really good ingredients and everything is made fresh to order.....also if you have something in mind and it's not on their menu.......just ask them.......more than likely they will whip it up for you.  They've made Ellie something that's not on their menu almost every time.  They are very accommodating especially for kids.  Which is a HUGE plus for us!!!

This time, Russell kinda went outside his normal.....he normally gets their Rueben but this visit he ordered the Hot Wing Cheesesteak-which is Chicken, Onion, Blue Cheese Crumbles, the Chef's own Wingy sauce with American cheese on a Hoagie.  He really enjoyed it.....especially the "Wingy Sauce"......the owner of the place makes all the wing sauces himself and this particular sauce was a combination of jalapeño's, a sweet chili sauce, and cheyenne.  It was GOOD!!  He opted for the sweet potato fries as his side.  And......if I do have one negative thing to say about Do-B's its the fries (regular and sweet), they aren't fresh cut they're frozen.........you gotta have fresh cut fries......it makes the meal a lot better.  In my opinion!!!

I ordered the Shrimp Po-Boy, which would normally have been a great choice.......I've had it before.  However, we just got back from the Gulf Coast and ate the BEST Po-Boys EVER so it was hard for me not to compare them to the ones that I just ate a couple of weeks ago.  This was my mistake not Do-B's because they make a delicious Po-Boy sandwich.

Ellie wasn't very hungry (she had just woke up from a nap) so she just went with a plain hot dog (no bun) and a side a apple sauce.  Again, this wasn't on the menu....but they made it for her anyway.

My Mom got an order of wings in the Wingy Sauce and a side salad.  Russell and I have never had their wings before but my Mom seemed to enjoy them.

As always, we enjoyed our stop at Do-B's (even with the screaming child that was there.....been there, done that)! If you are passing through E-Town stop in for a meal.....you won't be disappointed.

Until next time!!! XO-Russell, Lisa & Ellie
